Not so much assignment, I guess, but a welcome guide? My last one was not a piece I would have chosen on first round, but I'm still happy with the Lorne/Cadman Vegas AU that was in the art, and that I got to explore.
Also, the previews don't show the whole art, so there are potentially surprises. In my second reversebang, I didn't know Cam was in the picture based on the preview of kazbaby's art. That resulted in one of my favorite stories to write (Separation and Clearance Rules for Instrument Flight). Same thing with the art that inspired This of Ours--the manip of the fused faces, half John and half Cam wasn't in the preview. Those surprises were awesome, because they took me places I wouldn't have gone. That image of the fused face was the entire inspiration for John and Cam sharing each other's heads in This of Ours.
Bottom line is that the reversebang has been very, very good to me. I'm absolutely fine with changing up the format, etc., but I really liked those surprises.
