I've read a number of John/Rodney stories where one of them is a merman... I guess what with Atlantis being underwater at first and then an island in the middle of a vast ocean, it's a natural match. Anyway, I always enjoy this trope. Fairy tales, daring rescues, mermen... what's not to like? :-)
