This is gorgeous. I'm tempted to use it as my desktop, if I can bear to after reading the magnificent and heartbreaking story it inspired.

I love the color palette; all the component parts of the image seem to blend together so naturally. And the whole image does a great job of communicating the wonder and the loneliness of distant frontier places on the edge of human imagination -- the kinds of places Rodney has inhabited for a long time now.
