So, you know this posted when I was in the middle of a personal crisis and I've sort of avoided dealing with it and the other reversebang story as a result, but that doesn't mean I didn't read the feedback and very much appreciate it - maybe even more than I would have otherwise. So, a very late thank you for the comment, and a thought on what you mention: the IOA made the mistake of equating technology and intelligence. They denied him equipment and hardware, completely missing that it was Rodney's mind that made him dangerous. He didn't need Ancient tech or spit and bailing wire, all he had to do was outwit them. Which he did, using their own greed and power-hunger.
Of course they drove right round the bend in the mean time, but that's not Rodney's problem. At least he doesn't see it that way.
